I have other chef's coats and wear them mostly when I do cooking demonstrations. My other coats are of the 3/4 length sleeve type and are usually made of a little heavier material. Although I like them, they do get a little hot when you are cooking in a hot kitchen, under hot lights, or outdoors in the sun. Since I live in the south it is usually considered acceptable to sacrifice a little style for comfort (plus, nobody wants you sweating over their food!) This coat fits the bill and keeps me cooler.

Although the material is of a lighter weight, it is still well made. I do however suggest wearing an undershirt beneath it since it is a little transparent. It can be worn with the collar open or closed and looks good either way. I wear a size 48 jacket and the extra large was a little big on me. However, I would rather have it too large that too tight. I am very happy with the value of this coat and will be purchasing a few more.
