The "Goose" color is much lighter than the sample on the web page. The web page makes the color look a bit like charcoal gray. I've seen a lot of geese, and they always looked like a mixture of gray and light brown mixture to me, so the dark color in the picture just didn't make much sense. Figuring the mat would match the grout between the tiles if it actually turned out to be the color in the picture on the web, I took a chance and placed an order. In reality, the "Goose" mat is about the color of a real goose, and the color is very pleasant. I guess that explains why the manufacturer called the color "Goose." And it is more beige than gray, and much lighter than the grout between the tiles.

And now to move on to the benefits of the mat. In my opinion, ceramic tile creates the most beautiful kitchen floor available. But that beauty comes with a couple of drawbacks. The first is that it the floor is cold when you stand on it with bare feet. The second is that ceramic floors are hard to stand on; if you stand around on a ceramic floor for a while, your feet and calves will start to ache.

Ah, the things women will put up with in the name of beauty! ;) Since I'm not willing to give up the beauty of a ceramic kitchen floor, I've been comparative shopping for an anti-fatigue mat for about two years. When I saw this mat, it looked exactly like what I was seeking, so I placed the order.

The mat is wonderful, and very nice to stand on. It is much like the difference between standing on a concrete sidewalk vs standing on a plush, carpeted floor. I purchased the 20" by 36" mat, and it is the perfect size for working in front of the kitchen sink, or for cooking at the stove.
