According to amazon, this 5 gallon PET plastic fermenter weighs 18 lbs. Unless the strange brew bumper sticker comes in at 17 pounds, this is extremely inaccurate. This is more weight than a Glass 6 gallon carboy weighs. Anyone home brewing knows what better bottles are (they are awesome). One of the reasons people go with these is because they weigh about a pound and unlike glass, they can be ported (drilled) at the bottom so you can install a valve which makes racking your beer simple. Note- this doesn't appear to be the ported model. Unlike usual plastic water bottles, these do not leech anything into your beer. Glass is still king in my opinion, but seeing this come in at 18 pounds in the description is not correct by any stretch. You could probably buy 12 of them and it would weigh less than that :) Because weight is a primary factor for people choosing this over glass, I thought it should be mentioned.
