We have a number of placemats now by Tot Talk. these are very durable and we love that they wash clean with almost any type of washable marker. our kids even used crayons once and that came off well too. They have a lot of education on both sides. We've tried Melissa and Doug (these smear the minute you write on them), Crocodile Creek (these are flimsy and unfortunately don't have much content), and others.
