My husband ordered these placemats in parsley and a light brown. These are okay placemats but each style has one strip of color that is particularly bright, almost a florescent. The green (parsley) has a bright lime green stripe and the brown has a bright orange strip. I wish they were more muted. It feels "off". They are not "wipe clean" because food sticks to them and gets down into the grooves between the strips. But I find that they work okay if you wipe them down with a soft soapy sponge and rinse them with water (and hang them over a chair to dry like one reviewer noted), though dampening the bamboo does seem to compromise it a bit (one splintered a bit) and I imagine they will not last too many months with repeated wet cleaning. Since the cost is not bad they are acceptable.
