I had already made one of these using a bicycle pump and a CO2 ball lock line before I stumbled on this. I made it so I would not have to wast CO2 flushing my kegs when cleaning then and pressure testing them after reassembly.
I still always use CO2 for serving.
A small cartridge keg charger fist in a pocket to take with. Personally I don't like them.
I have a 2-1/2 LB CO2 tank to take with and an E size Oxygen tank stand for it.
You can also get an adapter for a paint ball CO2 tank to regulator thread for travel.
I find having a ball lock keg pump very useful and having a ready made one would have been convenient.
I used a foot pump because that's what I had. I find the foot pump lets me keep at least one hand free.
