Product Description

Cream Ale is a style of beer that is pure American. Creaminess of character in the beer can come from corn used as an adjunct, although there is little corn flavor. More importantly, the creamy characteristics of this beer result from low use of very high quality Noble hops, and "hybrid" ale/lager temperature control during fermentation. Start it out as if an ale at 64-67°F, after a week lower the temperature to 48-54°F for 2-3 weeks of lagering, for best results. The finished beer will be light and crisp with a silky, creamy mouthfeel.

I ordered and received two of these and they arrived in good condition. Nothing special, just two brass coupling nuts. They did have a smooth finish instead of the knurled finish as shown in the main picture, but I bought them for the brass color not the texture so I have no serious issue with them. They allowed me to use my existing shanks with a brass finish tap in a good looking setup.

Digital Hygrometer () Review

This is a very good digital temperature and humidity meter. I like the easy-to-read display, how responsive the device is to changes in the surrounding environment, and the minimum/maximum memory functionality. For these reasons, I rated the device with five stars.

I do have a few comments about the digital hygrometer sent to me:
1. The image of what is being sold shows three devices. The actual meter is the one on the right with five buttons.
2. My meter arrived already turned on (the "red protective tabs" had been removed from the two AAA alkaline batteries), and the display was showing the temperature in Celsius. Fahrenheit is shown in the product image, and I found by reading the included instructions that the temperature display can easily be changed using a switch in the battery compartment.
3. At the time of purchase, I thought that I was buying a Cardinal Health branded device based upon the product description, however, the product branding has since changed.
4. I made my purchase on March 31, 2012. My meter is scheduled for recalibration on November 2, 2013. Recalibration *currently* costs USD $17 plus shipping (the related form can be found by searching under <...> and clicking on "Recalibration").

E.C. Kraus 6" Strainer / Double Mesh / Stainless Steel Review

This strainer is two things above all else:
beautiful-looking
extremely high-quality

It does its advertised job of straining very well, thanks to the double mesh which consists of two different size meshes overlying each other. The stainless steel is phenomenal, and has not had any issues going through my dishwasher 100+ times. Not much else to add about this thing, other than the fact that I wish it was offered via prime!

I highly recommend to anyone in need of a strainer, and can personally attest that this is perfect for home brewing of wine and beer!
